The Cruising Division is planning a two week cruise in the Baltic on Flamingo, 100 square metre, windfall yacht. It would be between 2-16 June 2008 from British Kiel Yacht Club. The Yacht can accommodate 10 people. To fill this is our first objective. People can either have one or two weeks. The cost, without anything, is Euro 930 per week which is really inexpensive. The plan would be to cruise amongst the Danish Islands for a week and make a stop near an Airport at the end of the week so that if any crew changes are to be made this can be done. If there are less than ten the price is so cheap we can still go ahead. However if there are more we can take a Comfortina 42' which will take 10 as well.
The Handicap Cruiser Class at Seaview has a long and illustrious pedigree. Class members have both extensively cruised the world and achieved great success as skippers or crew in important offshore races such as the Americas Cup, Admiral’s Cup, Sydney-Hobart, Louis Vuitton Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and OSTAR.
Closer to home, SVYC cruisers race regularly off Seaview during August and participate in the annual Round the Island Race. The Class also runs rallies to UK and European locations.
The current register shows 32 boats ranging in size from 19 to 55 feet, many of which are frequent visitors to Seaview. Class members also charter in home and overseas waters.
